Everyone Needs a Chance

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)

The above verse is what we call the Great Commission. Every follower of Christ has a duty. That duty is to tell of, and show people God’s love. We are to be a light to the world. But not everyone is hearing the gospel. Some Christians are not showing God’s love. I’ll admit, I do not always 100% loving. I do have my moments of being selfish, and angry. But I try to show God’s love, I try to tell everyone the gospel.

Penn Jillette once was given a Bible after a show. he later made a video about it. This is one of the things he said, “How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?” That is so true. How can you not tell them about a chance to party in Heaven forever?

Everyone needs a chance to accept Jesus Christ. If you do not tell someone about Christ and you were the only person that could have told them about salvation, and they died that day and went to Hell, that would be on you. But if you tell them about salvation and they did not listen and accept Christ then died and went to Hell, you are blameless because you did what you were supposed to do.

God tells us to 1. Love God and 2. Love others. The least we could do is love them and tell them the greatest news on earth. Our sole duty as Christians (besides following Christ and having faith) is to love others and tell people about Christ. We need to start doing that. No more shunning people. No more turning our backs on people in need. No more keeping silent. It is time we stand up and shout, “GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR YOU! THREE DAYS LATER HE ROSE AGAIN DEFEATING DEATH. he gave you an option to live with him in paradise for ever. All you have to do is accept him as your Lord and Savior and you are saved.”

Will you be the one who reaches out to people and give them a chance? Or will you sit back and hope someone else reaches out to them? I for one won’t sit back and watch people around me go to Hell when I can tell them truth.
